Wolfgang Ecker (born February 16, 1965 ) is an Austrian master stonemason and chairman of the Lower Austria Economic Association and has been President of the Lower Austria Chamber of Commerce since 2020 .

Life

After completing the 5th grade AHS, Wolfgang Ecker completed an apprenticeship as a stonemason with Oreste Bastreri from 1980 to 1983. After the journeyman's examination, he moved to the family business "Heinz Eckers WTW, Hildegard Ecker", which was run by his mother after the early death of his father in 1977. In 1989 he founded his Wolfgang Ecker GmbH. In 1995 he passed the license examination for the master stonemason trade.

The master stonemason company Ecker, based in Traiskirchen , employs around 100 people in the corporate group. The focus is on the conservation, restoration and renovation of historical objects. In 2014 the company was awarded the national coat of arms for its special achievements .

From 2005 to 2010 he was regional guild master for Lower Austrian stonemasons, from 2011 to 2015 federal guild master.

Political career

Wolfgang Ecker began his activities in the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce in 1996 as a district representative in the state guild of stonemasons. From 2011 to 2019 Ecker acts as chairman of the WKNÖ branch in Purkersdorf. From 2015 to 2020 he is division chairman of Lower Austrian trade and crafts.

In November 2018, Wolfgang Ecker was elected chairman of the Lower Austrian Economic Association. On May 11, 2020, Ecker was sworn in as President of the Lower Austria Chamber of Commerce.
