Petar Lazic
Petar Lazić (born September 25, 1960 in Kosjerić ; † September 9, 2017 in Belgrade ) was a Serbian writer .
biography
He was considered one of the most important Serbian satirists and has been translated into more than 30 languages, represented in 50 anthologies worldwide. The Cambridge Bibliographical Institute ranked him among the "2000 most important authors of the 20th century". For his work (as a writer and satirist) Lazić received numerous awards and prizes, but he was also punished several times, before and during the Milošević period, always with the same reason: “Insulting the President”. He was a member of parliament (head of the opposition coalition DEPOS-ND) and a member of the Parliamentary Council for Culture and Information. In June 1994 he resigned. To this day, he is the only Serbian parliamentarian who has resigned. He lived in Belgrade .
