Peter Bettermann

Peter Bettermann (born May 29, 1947 in Hagen ) is a German manager . From 1991 to 1994 he was CEO of Deutsche BP AG and from 1994 to 2012 a member of the management team of the Freudenberg Group , of which he was spokesman from 1997 to 2012.

Life

Bettermann was born in Hagen in 1947 as the first of four sons and the older brother of a sister. Born as the son of the lawyer Karl August Bettermann , Bettermann first studied from 1968 to 1972 in Kiel, graduating as a mineralogist . There he received his doctorate in 1976. rer. nat. At the same time he studied law in Kiel and Münster, where he received his Dr. jur. PhD. From 1980 to 1994 Bettermann worked for the BP Group in Germany (Hamburg) and England (London) . In 1994 Bettermann moved to the Freudenberg Group with headquarters in Weinheim, Baden-Württemberg. From 1997 to 2012 he was the first management spokesman who did not belong to the Freudenberg family. In 2013 he received the business medal of the state of Baden-Württemberg .

Peter Bettermann is married and has three sons.
