Peter Chilvers

Peter Chilvers († February 28, 2015 ) was the inventor , engineer and promoter of sailing and windsurfing . He is credited with inventing a first version of a windsurf board.

Life

Chilvers worked as an engineer at Lotus cars . In London he founded a center for windsurfing and sailing . In 1958, he invented a first version of a windsurf board while living on Hayling Island .

Chilvers died on February 28, 2015 of lung cancer .
