Peter Hinwood

Peter Hinwood (born May 17, 1946 in England) is an English actor who became known as the star of Rocky in the Rocky Horror Picture Show .

Hinwood first worked as a photographer and model, then eventually became an actor. In 1968 he portrayed the Greek messenger of the gods Hermes in a film adaptation of the adventures of Odysseus , followed in 1970 by a smaller role in the horror film The Ballad of Tam Lin at Ava Gardner's side .

He finally became known in 1975 for the role of Rocky , one of Dr. Frank N. Furter created creature in the film adaptation of the musical Rocky Horror Picture Show . The 1.86 m tall blonde Hinwood embodied the muscular title character, who is mentally on the level of a toddler. His singing voice in the film came from the Australian singer Trevor White.

Hinwood ended his acting career in 1976 with a supporting role in Derek Jarman's historical drama Sebastiane and now works as an antique dealer near London .
