Peter Jost (journalist)

Peter Jost (* 1974 ) is a Swiss journalist . From 2014 to 2018 he was editor-in-chief of the Berner Zeitung .

Life

Peter Jost completed a banking apprenticeship at the Swiss Bank Corporation and joined journalism in 1999 for the Thuner Tagblatt . In 2004 he became the deputy head of sport at the Berner Zeitung , before moving to the business department in 2006. In 2009 he won the Bedag Media Prize Eugen together with Niklaus Bernhard, Felix Maurhofer, Jon Mettler and Stefan Schnyder . In 2009 he became deputy editor-in-chief of the Berner Zeitung . On August 26, 2013, Tamedia announced that Peter Jost will take over as editor-in-chief of the Berner Zeitung from Michael Hug on January 1, 2014 . At the beginning of 2019 he was replaced by Simon Bärtschi .

Peter Jost lives in Thun with his wife and four children.
