Peter Martens (engineer)

Peter Martens (* 1932 ) is a German civil engineer.

Martens completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and studied civil engineering at the Eckernförde University of Applied Sciences and at the Technical University of Braunschweig , where he obtained his diploma in 1961 and then worked as a research assistant at Klaus Pieper . In 1969 he received his doctorate at Pieper ( silo loads from powdery bulk materials and from air supply ). In 1970 he joined the engineering office von Pieper in Braunschweig, founded in 1961, as a partner. The engineering office was restructured in 1987 when Frank Puller became a partner in martens + puller engineering company .

He dealt according to a major focus of research of his teacher Pieper to the chair with silos from reinforced concrete and also published a handbook on silos.
