Peter Offenburg

Peter Offenburg (born March 18, 1458 in Basel ; † December 4, 1514 there ) was a Swiss politician.

Life

Peter Offenburg worked as an eight-man in the Basel Council from 1495 and was elected chief guild master the following year. In 1501 he became the mayor's governor and, following his accolade, mayor a year later, an office he held for life. He promoted admission to the Confederation and in 1501, as a representative of Basel, conjured this union.
