Peter Ovtcharov (Russian: Пётр Овчаров, Pjotr Ovtscharow, born December 31, 1981 in Leningrad , today St. Petersburg ) is a Russian pianist .

Ovtcharov studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling . He has been awarded several prizes internationally. Among other things, he won the silver medal at the 3rd Tchaikovsky Competition for young musicians in 1997, 1st prize at the Austrian Gradus ad Parnassum competition in 2004 , and the Luitpold Prize at the Kissinger Sommer Festival in 2006 . In 2004 he published his first CD with etudes by Rachmaninoff . In 2006, Chopin's mazurkas followed .

Ovtcharov has been teaching piano in Korea since 2010 , first at Sangmyung University and then at Yonsei University .
