Peter Pauls (born May 15, 1953 in Osterode am Harz ) is a German journalist. Since May 1, 2009 he has been editor-in-chief of the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger . On January 1, 2017, Carsten Fiedler took over the editor-in-chief and Peter Pauls became chief author.

After graduating from high school, Peter Pauls completed a teaching degree for grammar schools and then did an internship . After some time as a local editor , he worked as an Africa correspondent for various German daily newspapers. He then became deputy editor-in-chief and editor-in-chief for the publisher at Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger . After the takeover of the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung by the M. DuMont Schauberg publishing group , he worked there for six months from January 2005 as acting editor-in-chief.
