Peter Römer

Peter Römer (born February 4, 1936 in Kassel ) is a German political scientist and lawyer.

Peter Römer studied law and political science in Berlin , Göttingen and Marburg from 1956 to 1960 . As a student and assistant to Wolfgang Abendroth , he is assigned to the Marburg School .

In 1964 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the subject of the criminal law problem of parliamentary bribery. From 1966 to 1970 he worked as Abendroth's research assistant. From 1972 to 1998 he was Professor of Scientific Policy in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Philosophy at the Philipps University of Marburg .

Römer was co-founder and co-editor of the journal Democracy and Law, which appeared from 1973 to 1993 . In 1968 he was one of the founding circle of the journal Kritische Justiz .
