Peter Schnaubelt (pseudonym Peter Horn , born June 22, 1964 in Krems an der Donau , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian teacher and author of books for children, young people and adults.

Life

Peter Schnaubelt grew up in Krems an der Donau, a city that is both the gateway to the Wachau and the Waldviertel . The typical small town life of his childhood and youth when he went to school in Krems is reflected in many of his texts. In 1982 he passed his matriculation examination, and until 1987 he studied English and history at the University of Vienna. He has been teaching English and history since 1987, first at the Horn Commercial Academy (until June 2003), and since 2002 at the Horn Gymnasium . He lives with his wife, who is also a teacher, and his two sons in Horn (from which his stage name results).

In addition to his teaching activities, Peter Horn has written a number of books for children, young people and adults. His work is directed in the form of picture books to children from around three years of age and in that of reading stories to kindergarten children, he has written first-reading books and funny books for elementary school children and exciting novels for girls and boys from around ten years of age, as well as youth literature (from 12 years of age ) and two collections of short stories for adults. In 1992 he received the recognition award for literature from the state of Lower Austria and the Walther von der Vogelweide award from Weiten / District of Melk, and in 1993 a young scholarship for literature and a young talent scholarship for children's and youth literature from the Federal Ministry for Education and Art .

Peter Horn combines his experience as a teacher and his work as a writer in readings and writing workshops, including in schools and libraries , where he wants to motivate his audience to read.
