Peter Seuwen

Peter Seuwen (* 1960 in Neuerburg , Bitburg district ) is a German author and director .

Life

After studying law in Mannheim, he went to the Baden drama school in Karlsruhe. In 1989 he followed Klaus Weise as his assistant at the Darmstadt State Theater, where he made his first productions. In 1992 he became chief director of the Theater im Pott / Theater Oberhausen. His directorial work has been invited to children's and youth theater festivals, including Das Tier (Niels Höpfner), A Bloody English Garden (Nick Fisher) and Under Supervision (Jean Genet). The production of Paul Maars “A Week Full of Saturdays” was invited to the “Dream Games” as one of the 15 best German-language children's play productions.

Since 1995 he has worked as a freelance director and author in children's and youth theaters as well as in the evening program at the Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Theater Krefeld, Theater Heidelberg, Theater Oberhausen, Theater Stendal and at the Landesbühne Hannover.

Seuwen is married and has one son.
