Peter Sommer (cultural historian)

Peter Heinz Sommer (born January 17, 1926 in Sumiswald ; † August 22, 1999 in Herrenschwanden ) was a Swiss teacher , cultural historian , linguist and writer .

Sommer worked as a secondary school teacher before he was "Member of the Neutral Monitoring Commission on the Demarcation Line between North and South Korea " from 1954 to 1955 . From 1966 he studied "Geography, Prehistory and Folklore at the University of Bern ". He published on cultural-historical topics and developed the index card system "Dr.-Sommer-Kartennetz". His estate is in the Bern Burger Library .
