Peter Topping (* 1971 ) is a British mathematician who studies differential geometry and geometric analysis, and specifically Ricci flows and harmonic mapping flows.

Topping received his PhD in 1997 from the University of Warwick with Mario Micallef (The Harmonic Map Heat Flow from Surfaces). He is a professor at the University of Warwick.

In 2014 he was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Seoul (Ricci flow with unbounded curvature). In 2005 he received the Whitehead Prize and in 2006 the Philip Leverhulme Prize.
