Peter Wülfing-von Martitz

Peter Wülfing-von Martitz (born December 9, 1930 in Berlin ; † February 7, 2004 in Cologne ) was a German classical philologist .

Peter Wülfing-von Martitz studied classical philology at the Free University of Berlin and at the University of Göttingen , where he received his doctorate in 1958 under Kurt Latte . In 1967 he completed his habilitation at the University of Cologne and was appointed adjunct professor in 1970. He was later appointed Scientific Councilor and Professor, and in 1980 Professor. In 1996 he retired.

His main research interests were the Homeric epics. He has also written articles and essays on Greek rhetoric.

His grave is in Cologne's north cemetery (hall 22).
