The Peter Wolters GmbH is a manufacturer of high-precision machine tools and systems for the processing of flat workpieces ( lapping , honing , polishing ). The company also manufactures internal cylindrical grinding machines, deep grinding and profile grinding machines.
The company has been part of the US-based Lam Research Corporation since 2012 . In June 2014, the US company Lapmaster announced the takeover of Peter Wolters.
The product range is completed by grinding and deburring finishing systems, which have been specially developed for grinding, precision deburring and an additional optimization of the surface of fine-ground and punched workpieces .
The machines are used around the world by companies in the metalworking, electronics, ceramics and glass industries.
The philosophy of Peter Wolters is to continuously develop the manufacturing technologies in the field of precision machining as an innovation leader and to push forward with customers into ever new process engineering border areas. For this purpose, Peter Wolters has application laboratories with extensive development resources, equipped with the latest technology and measurement technology.
In 2009, Peter Wolters GmbH was a partner company for the Jugend forscht competition .
In 2009 Peter Wolters took over the grinding machine product line from the American company Micron Machine Tools Inc.
