Peter von Gunten

Peter von Gunten (born November 20, 1941 in Bern ) is a Swiss filmmaker .

life and work

From 1956 to 1961 he attended the arts and crafts school in Bern. Between 1960 and 1964 he worked in various advertising agencies and studios as a graphic designer, photographer and draftsman. From 1964 to 1970 he ran his own atelier for graphics, exhibition graphics and photography.

He made his film debut in his 1967 short film Flower Poem . Since then he has been known as a writer, director, cameraman and producer of short, documentary, television and feature films. People on the fringes of society are a central theme of his filmmaking.
