Petr Halmay
Petr Halmay , actually Petr Šiktanc (* 1958 in Prague ), is a Czech poet .
Life
Petr Halmay was born in 1958 as the son of the Czech poet Karel Šiktanc . Banned from publication, he was not allowed to publish his poems in Czechoslovakia . During the period of " normalization " in the 1970s, he worked as a gas station attendant, passenger or stage technician. After 1989 he first published in magazines (Revolver revue, Literární noviny, Souvislosti, Tvar). In 2007 he received the Jan Skácel Prize awarded by the Obec spisovatelů for his third volume of poetry, Koncová světla ( Bottom Lights ) .
