Petra Elsner (artist)

Petra Elsner (born September 28, 1953 in Wildau ) is a German author and painter.

Life

She began her professional training initially as a type and graphic painter. From 1980 she worked as a youth editor at the Junge Welt publishing house for 13 years. She also took a correspondence course in journalism and studied philosophy for six semesters.

In 1992 she began to turn to fiction and painting. From 1994 to 2008 she lived and worked as a freelance artist in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg . In January 2008 she left Berlin and moved to Kurtschlag in the Schorfheide.
