Petra Fichtinger

Petra Fichtinger (born October 1973 ) is an Austrian table tennis player. She took part in world championships three times.

Career

Petra Fichtinger achieved her first international successes at the European Youth Championships. In 1987 she won bronze among the students in mixed with Karl Jindrak . A year later she reached the final in doubles with the Hungarian Adrienne Rakos. In 1991 in Granada she was vice European champion in singles behind Krisztina Tóth (Hungary), in doubles with Anna Januszyk (Poland) she won the title. During this time she trained at the Stockerau performance center under Andrzej Baranowski.

Petra Fichtinger played for the clubs UTTC Raika Oberndorf , later for Union Raiffeisen Oberndorf, before ending her career in 2002.

In 1992 she took first place in the national rankings. At the national Austrian championships from 1991 to 1997 she won a total of six times in individual. From 1989 to 1998 she was nominated four times for European championships , three times she took part in world championships . It did not come close to medal ranks.

After 1997 she stopped performing internationally, in 2002 she ended her active career.
