Petra Lämmel

Petra Lämmel (born January 14, 1974 in Berlin ) is a German actress who was the leading actress in a successful German children's film as a child .

Life

Petra Lämmel grew up in East Berlin with a brother twelve years her senior. From the first marriage of the father, who was a lecturer at the Academy for Medical Training, there were three other, older children. Lämmel's mother worked in the GDR Ministry of Transport.

Shortly after the end of 1st grade, Lämmel was discovered by director Helmut Dziuba and cast as Sabine Kleist in his DEFA children's film Sabine Kleist, 7 years old . The critics praised Lämmel for her "amazing ... nuanced game". For her portrayal, she was honored as best child actress at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1983. The then 14-year-old turned down the renewed offer to work on Dziuba's Verbotene Liebe (1990).

Petra Lämmel only played in this one film. After finishing school, she initially trained as an educator and now works as a dental technician. Lämmel lives in Berlin and is the mother of one son. In the past she took part in discussions about Sabine Kleist, 7 years old .
