Petra Weiher

Petra Weiher (born March 7, 1961 in Potsdam ) is a German mathematician and teacher. For the PDS she was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt from 1998 to 2005 .

biography

After attending school in Kleinmachnow, Petra Weiher studied mathematics and chemistry from 1979 to 1983 at the “Wolfgang Ratke” University of Education in Köthen, graduating as a qualified teacher. This was followed by a doctoral degree, which she finished in 1987 with a doctorate in mathematics. She is married and has a daughter.

Weiher was FDJ secretary at the Pedagogical University in Köthen from 1986 to 1990 and was a member of the SED . She then worked until 1992, then managing director of the PDS district board in Köthen. After six years as a constituency worker for Antje Tietz , she was elected to the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt in 1998. After her re-election in 2002, she became chairwoman of the finance committee and, from 2004, deputy chairwoman of her group. In 2005 she moved to the State Audit Office of Saxony-Anhalt and resigned from the state parliament.
