Petras Baršauskas

Petras Baršauskas (born October 10, 1953 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian engineer, professor , rector .

Life

His father was the physicist Kazimieras Baršauskas (1904–1964). From 1960 to 1971 he graduated from Salomėja Nėris Middle School . After graduating from high school, in 1977 he graduated from the electrical engineering faculty at the Kauno politechnikos institutas (KPI) and became an engineer in the energy industry . In 198 he received his doctorate in Leningradin technical sciences on the topic of "Mažos galios asinchroninių mašinų trumpai sujungtų rotorių kokybė ir jos kontrolė masinės gamybos sąlygomis" and in 2002 qualified as a professor in social sciences. From 1980 to 1983 he was an aspirant at KPI, from 1984 to 1987 assistant, from 1989 taught as a lecturer. From 1989 to 1990 he was KPI Vice Rector for Science. From 2003 he was Vice Rector at ISM Vadybos ir ekonomikos universitetas . He has been a professor since 2004 . Since May 31, 2011 he has been the KTU Rector .
