The Petrochemical Industries Company is a subsidiary of the state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and a large producer of ammonia, fertilizers (urea granules) and polypropylene. The production volume in 2013 was 150 kT polypropylene, 660 kT ammonia and 1050 kT urea.

In 2004, PIC and Dow Chemical announced the formation of two joint ventures , MEGlobal , to manufacture and sell monoethylene glycol and diethylene glycol and equipolymers , to manufacture and sell polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and purified terephthalic acid (PTA).
