Petros Brailas-Armenis
Petros Brailas-Armenis ( Greek Πέτρος Βράϊλας-Ἀρμένης , * 1812 in Corfu ; † 1884 London ) was a 19th century Greek philosopher .
Brailas-Armenis studied law and philosophy in Paris a. a. with Victor Cousin and founded a moderate political party on his return to Corfu. He became President of the Reading Society of Corfu (Anagnostiki Eteria Kerkyras) and Senator in Parliament. In 1849 he founded the weekly newspaper Patris (Fatherland) in Corfu, which appeared in Greek and French and represented the political camp of the reformers. In 1854 he took over a professorship for philosophy at the Ionian Academy .
After the Republic of the Ionian Islands joined the Kingdom of Greece , he became its ambassador in London in 1867 and Member of Parliament for Corfu in the Greek Parliament. Together with Theodoros Deligiannis he represented Greece at the Berlin Congress .

He wrote numerous works on ontology , natural philosophy and Immanuel Kant . As an eclectic, he was critical of Hegel's "pantheism".
