Petru Galis (born September 5, 1943 in Semlac , Kingdom of Romania ) is a Romanian painter and graphic artist.

life and work

Galis studied at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Timișoara Palstic.

Petru Gali's oil paintings, committed to the tradition of the 19th century, combine stylistic elements of late naturalism and impressionism . Themes are landscapes, interiors and still lifes.

Exhibitions

Petru Galis was involved in group exhibitions of Romanian artists abroad, for example in Pancevo (Yugoslavia), Chisinau (Moldova), Szeged (Hungary), Baume les Dames, Bourg en Bresse, Portes les Valence, Crest (France), Bielefeld, Duisburg-Hamborn , Aschaffenburg (Germany), Oslo, Drøbak (Norway), Thessaloniki (Greece), Springfield (USA).

He was also involved in group exhibitions of international artists in Pancevo, Yugoslavia (1979, 1980, 1984, 1989) in Wachsterbach, Germany (1994), in Budapest Csongrád, Hungary (1998, 1999), in Szeged, Hungary (1998, 2000), in Coimbra, Lisbon (Portugal) in 1995; in Antwerp, Belgium (1995).
