Peter of Tusculum
Petrus von Tusculum († 1049 , also Petrus II. Von Silva Candida ) was a cardinal of the 11th century .
Life
Peter, nephew of Popes Benedict VIII and John XIX. , was raised by the latter to Cardinal Bishop of Silva Candida in 1025 . As a representative of the Pope, he took part in the coronation of Conrad II as emperor in 1027. Under his cousin Pope Benedict IX. he held the office of Chancellor and Librarian of the Holy Roman Church . He died in 1049 and was buried in the church of Sant'Alessio all'Aventino .
