The Peugeot 101 is a moped by the French manufacturer Peugeot Motocycles and was built from 1970 to 1980.

description

The 101 is one of the rarer Peugeot mopeds and is technically very much related to the Peugeot 103 . There are many variations of the model that can be distinguished from one another with an appendage to 101 (e.g. KT-D, KSMD, MT-D, SP-D).

  • MT-D: tubular frame with attached fuel tank
  • KSMD: Press frame with integrated fuel tank
  • SP-D: Press plate frame with integrated petrol tank, more powerful motor than the KSMD

There are other variations of this subtype, e.g. B. Peugeot 101 KT-D, version C. Version C differs from A and B, for example, in the types of brakes (drum or rim brakes) or the suspension. Basically, different versions of the 101 moped can often be distinguished from one another by the size of the petrol tank.

Technical specifications

Although different engines were used within the relatively long construction period, the basic key data remained almost always the same:

  • Engine: wind-cooled, single-cylinder two-stroke engine
  • Displacement: 48 cm³
  • Output: 0.71 hp to 1 kW at 3200 rpm
  • Transmission: one-way automatic transmission with centrifugal clutch
  • Tires: 28 × 17 (1.10 × 17), D 1.1 × 17, 2 × 16
  • Translation: 11 to 56
  • Top speed of models delivered in Germany: 25 km / h, in France they were designed for 35 km / h
  • Number of seats: 1
  • Permissible total weight: 140 kg

Today's meaning

Currently, the Peugeot 101 is rarely found in Germany, the Peugeot 103 is more common. In France, however, the 101 models are even more common.
