Palatinate clay works Hagenburger and Schwalb

The Palatinate Tonwerke Hagenburger and Schwalb were a chamotte factory from Hettenleidelheim that was founded in 1901.

The clay deposits formed the basis for founding the company. In addition, the Ebertsheim – Hettenleidelheim railway branching off from the Eistalbahn had existed since 1894 , over which the clay deposits had been transported away for decades. In the meantime, the company has been in industry Chamotte Hagenburger Schwalb AG renamed and had the station Hettenleidelheim a siding , which jutted up the factory site. In the 1930s the company was taken over by Hoesch , later it belonged to the Didier works . It was completely abandoned in the 1980s.
