The Pfaffenwinkel Realschule Schongau (also Staatliche Realschule Schongau ) is a state Realschule in Schongau . The school was founded in 1952 as a three-tier middle school for boys and girls. Today the school is a state secondary school with six levels.
history
On August 7, 1952, the three-tier middle school for boys and girls in Schongau began teaching under the direction of Rector Gottfried Frank in the building of the old boys' elementary school. 115 pupils, who had to pass an entrance examination beforehand, were taught in 2 girls 'classes and one boys' class by 5 teachers. A modern typewriter room, the pride of the school at the time, was inaugurated on November 20th of the same year. The middle school Schongau was in 1956 with four levels. The school experiment “five-day week” was tried out at the State Middle School Schongau as the first school in Bavaria, before there were also Saturday classes.
The school became a seminar school for trainee students in 1964. On August 1, 1965, the school was renamed "Staatliche Realschule Schongau". In the school year 1972/1973 the compulsory elective group III was offered for the first time. In addition, there are mixed-gender classes for the first time in 20 years of school history. The first computers were available in 1982. In 2001, the secondary school had six levels. In the 2007/2008 school year, the Schongau secondary school was renamed “Pfaffenwinkel-Realschule Schongau”. Thereupon the school year 2008/2009 the new school logo and the school motto “Pfaffenwinkel-Realschue, the gateway to a successful future” was presented.
Premises
The school is located in Schongau on Bürgermeister-Lechenbauer-Strasse, he is considered the founding father of the secondary school. The school has the following specialist rooms: 5 IT rooms, 2 chemistry rooms, 2 physics rooms, 2 music rooms, a biology room and a school kitchen. The school building consists of five wings and two pavilions.
Awards
- In 2009, the school medical service of the Pfaffenwinkel Realschule Schongau was awarded a sponsorship prize from the Upper Bavarian Workers' Welfare Association.
- In 2012, the Pfaffenwinkel-Realschule Schongau took first place in the “Extracurricular Offer” category of the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, Science and Art, among other things for its great commitment to youth research and student experimentation .
- In 2012, students at the Pfaffenwinkel Realschule Schongau won a youth research school award.
- Between 2015 and 2017, a total of nine students from the Pfaffenwinkel Realschule were awarded the Manfred Hirschvogel Prize from the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation .
