The Hirschvogel Automotive Group is a global automotive supplier based in Denklingen, Bavaria . The company is active in the massive forming and machining of steel and aluminum and is one of the largest companies in the industry. The majority of the company shares are held by members of the Hirschvogel and Britzger families and 38% by the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation.

history

Originally a small village smithy, it was converted into an industrial smithy in 1938 and a new production hall was built on the green field at today's headquarters in 1963. The internationalization of the company began in 1988 when the subsidiary Hirschvogel Incorporated was founded in the USA ( Columbus ). Further subsidiary plants followed in Poland, China and India. The youngest plant in Mexico was officially opened on April 11, 2018.

Products and range of services

As a development partner for the automotive industry and a manufacturing specialist in the processes of massive forming and further processing - of both steel and aluminum - the application areas include diesel / gasoline injection, engines, e-drives, transmissions, drive trains, chassis in cars and commercial vehicles as well as components in off-highway -Applications to the core competencies.

The massive forming and machining processes are used in various combinations or exclusively in all plants. There are three main forming processes for steel as a material: hot, warm and cold forming with different forming temperatures between room temperature and 1,250 ° C. Aluminum forming is also part of the Hirschvogel range of services. In addition, the massively formed components are refined by means of machining or other processing methods at the customer's request until they are ready for installation.

In October 2018, the company announced that it had become the world's largest manufacturer of rotor shafts for electric motors in electric cars .
