The Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl ) is the economic policy association of the steel industry in Germany with its headquarters in Düsseldorf and works under the umbrella of the Stahl-Zentrum .

In 1874 the Association of German Iron and Steel Industrialists was founded, which was transferred to the Iron and Steel Industry Economic Group in 1935 and existed until 1945. In 1946 the successor organization Wirtschaftsvereinigung Eisen- und Stahlindustrie was founded, which has had its current name since 1988.

WV Stahl represents the industry- political interests of almost all steel companies producing in Germany and associated foreign member companies in relation to politics , the rest of the economy and the public . The association is a member of the energy-intensive industries interest group in Germany .

President Hans Jürgen Kerkhoff , who is also chairman of the steel institute VDEh , has been president since April 2008 .
