The former rectory in Hirschlanden (district of Ditzingen ) is a protected cultural monument according to § 2 DSchG BW .

The half-timbered building with a round arched cellar gate facing the street was built around 1483/86 in the garden of the former Widdumhof and was completely renovated in 1823. In the 19th century, the living area consisted of three heatable and one non-heatable room on the upper floor, a guest room on the top floor and a study on the ground floor, which was installed in 1823 at the instigation of the pastor Ludwig Friedrich Heuglin. In 1824 the Africa explorer Theodor von Heuglin was born in the rectory .

In the course of the expansion of Heimerdinger Strasse, the previous street-side access was given up in the early 1960s and relocated to the rear of the house. After the construction of a new rectory, the building was up for grabs. In 1974 it was acquired by the then still independent community of Hirschlanden in order to set up an old people's room, the archive and a local library. After Hirschlanden merged with the city of Ditzingen, the project was no longer implemented. The threat of demolition was only prevented by continued use by the Protestant parish. In 1983 she bought the house back and had it renovated again in 1992. Today it is used by the Ditzingen Evangelical District Youth Organization.
