Rectory Grub
The rectory of Grub is located in the village of the same name in the municipality of Grub in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, south of the Reformed church of Grub . It was created in 1786.
The building has the address «Dorf 71» and is a listed building as a communal cultural object (C object). It is also featured in the municipal site of Grub, which is worthy of protection.
Building description
It faces the street at the gable end . The ground floor is bricked, the rest built using the local timber construction. The large, curved, keel- arched gable roof has plastered gable and eaves hollows on the front and back. On the side of the roof there are foot walls. The eastern main facade has pure windows from the 1st to the 4th floor in the arrangement 5 + 5, 3 + 2 + 5, 6 and 2. Narrow adhesive roofs are arranged over the windows.
To the north of the building there is a three-room shed , which is now used as a syringe house.
On the first floor there is a round arched, archived front portal on the east side. In the keystone there are the letters Sigma and Theta , the first letters of the Greek word Protected God , the year 1786 and a G for pits. The front portal was renewed with artificial stone in 1957.
On the south side a flight of stairs leads to the covered balcony on the 1st floor.
