The theta ( Greek neuter θῆτα , Majuskel Θ, minuscule θ or θ) is the eighth letter of the Greek alphabet , and has according to the Milesian system the numerical value. 9

In modern Greek the letter θήτα is called thíta and is pronounced like a sharp English th ( voiceless dental fricative , "Lispellaut").
