The Roman Catholic parish church Bärnkopf is located in the municipality Bärnkopf in the district of Zwettl in Lower Austria . The parish church consecrated to St. Anne belongs to the Deanery Zwettl of the diocese of St. Pölten . The church is a listed building .

history

The church was built in the center of the village in 1854. The tower was built in 1903.

architecture

The church is a simple rectangular building with a three-sided end. The west tower is square up to the nave ridge, the bell storey is octagonal and has a pyramid helmet. The arched portal shows a majolica frieze with secessionist floral decoration.

The tower ground floor is groin vaulted. The nave with a barrel vault with stitch caps. The drawn-in gallery stands on rectangular pillars. The choir has an apse dome with stitch caps. The sacristy has a flat ceiling.

Furnishing

The interior was built in a uniform late-historical style around 1903. The high altar bears the group of figures Anna and Maria with the side figures Leonhard and Antonius. The side altars bear the figure of Maria Immaculate on the left and the figure of the Heart of Jesus on the right. The pulpit, the stations of the cross and the small organ were created by Franz Josef Swoboda (1907).
