history

At the beginning of 1971, the Braunau-St. Francis founded with Capuchin Fathers of the North Tyrolean Order Province . The construction of a parish center began in 1974 and on May 2, 1976 the parish center was consecrated with auxiliary bishop Alois Wagner . In 1979 the Capuchins left Braunau and the parish was taken over by the Diocese of Linz. In the autumn of 1982 the Salvatorian College Braunau-St. Francis erected. At the beginning of 1985, the parish of Braunau-St. Francis outsourced and thus raised to independence. Around 1997 the Salvatorian College was closed. In 2000/2001 the parish center was completely renovated.

The plan to build a church, which had already been abandoned in the 1980s, was taken into account in 2002 and an artist competition was held to convert the parish hall into a church service room. In 2003 the church service room was redesigned with the concept of Katharina Struber and Ursula Witzany.
