history

architecture

The essentially Gothic choir square from the first third of the 14th century consists of quarry stone masonry with Romanesque blocks, some of which are used as secondary. The baroque west tower was later changed several times.

The simple nave under a gable roof has baroque arched windows with plug-in grilles and shows a walled-off, chamfered Gothic pointed arch portal to the south. The heavily drawn-in lower rectangular choir under a gable roof has two-lane tracery windows from the first third of the 14th century in the east, and the choir windows in the south have a pointed arch. The presented square west tower, baroque at its core, was rebuilt in 1860 by architect Schmiedmeister with pointed arch sound windows and a high pyramid helmet. In the north there is a secondary, single-storey sacristy.

The nave with a renewed wooden beam ceiling has a wooden organ gallery. The tower ground floor has a groin vault. The round arched triumphal arch was expanded in baroque style. The low two-bay choir has a strong ribbed vault with throat ribs and a rosette keystone from the first third of the 14th century. The sacristy portal is Gothic. The choir has a rectangular sacrament niche with a grid and lava niche. The medieval barrel vaulted sacristy has a sink niche on the north side.

The stained glass with Christian symbols is from the 20th century.

Furnishing

The stone altar table with a crucifixion group of Christ on the cross flanked by Mary and John is from the third quarter of the 18th century. The left side altar bears a remarkable wooden statue Crowned Madonna with Apple around 1500. The right side altar shows the altarpiece St. Georg, painted by J. Vogl in 1851, restored by Mathias Schramböck. The statue of St. J. Parschalk created Joseph with Baby Jesus in the third quarter of the 19th century.

The font is from the 16./17. Century. The Stations of the Cross are from the end of the 19th century.

The organ was built by Anton Škrabl in 1996. Peter Hilzer mentions a bell in 1907.
