history

A pastor was mentioned in a document in 1551/1552. In the 17th and 18th centuries the church was a branch and vicariate of the Krems parish and was elevated to a parish church from 1784.

architecture

The late Gothic church building has a nave with stepped buttresses. The two- and three-lane tracery windows are probably new from 1906. The late medieval three-storey tower has a shoulder arch portal and ogival sound windows from 1906. The retracted choir has two-lane tracery windows and flat pilaster-like buttresses that were renewed in 1906. A small inscription plate mentions 1760.

The interior of the church shows a baroque-style three-bay nave under a pressed lance-cap barrel over belt arches on shallow, layered pilasters with fields cut into the vault, the middle vault shows a stuccoed wreath with a dove from the mid-18th century. The southern rectangular profiled portal is from the end of the 15th century. There is a stuccoed niche with a volute and foliage frame and in it the high relief mercy seat from the 18th century.

The pointed arch, strongly recessed triumphal arch with stuccoed cartouche leads into the single-bay late Gothic choir with a five-eighth end with a ribbed vault on consoles with keystones in relief with a rosette and Christ's head, heavily reworked in 1906.

The stained glass from 1906 shows Johannes, Thekla, Christianus, Magdalena.

Furnishing

The high altar from the middle of the 18th century is a sarcophagus altar with a picture frame retable with a rich volute and foliage framing and a volute extract. The tabernacle is richly structured and decorated in the Rococo style and provided with numerous turkeys. The high altar picture shows Mary with the child between the titular saints, the extract bears the relief Sebastian.

The organ shows itself with a late baroque early classicistic case. One bell is from the 16th century.
