The parish, replaced at the end of the 14th century by the parish St. Ulrich (?) In Wiener Neustadt, was orphaned in 1532, and in 1686 was incorporated into the parish of Lichtenwörth. In 1605, after a fire, the church was rebuilt with Cardinal Melchior Khlesl . In 1712 Eggendorf was again an independent parish.

architecture

The Romanesque choir tower church has been preserved with a massive square choir tower in the core. The three-storey choir tower has clock gables and a pointed helmet. The high-proportioned, essentially Romanesque nave has baroque arched windows. The nave walls are exposed to stone and show ashlar masonry with struts from the 12th and 13th centuries on the south wall. The blinded west facade with volute gable is from the 17th century and has a small, open groin-vaulted porch. Next to the entrance is a statue of Johannes Nepomuk from the middle of the 18th century.

The interior of the church has a two-bay hall without a choir with a square vault with belts on massive pillars from the 17th century. The straight choir wall was drawn in in 1608. Behind it is the former choir square with a smooth groined vault and divided by a partition and on the right with a spiral staircase into the tower. The baroque west gallery is vaulted and stands on Tuscan pillars with a groin under vault. The gallery parapet has plastered areas.

Furnishing

The high altar is a three-part, early historical niche retable from the mid-19th century with a central crucifix and the images of Peter and Paul on the side. The early baroque tabernacle from the 1st half of the 17th century shows large angel figures. The font is from 1719.

The organ has a neo-baroque case.
