The Roman Catholic parish church Eichenberg is located in the municipality of Eichenberg in the Bregenz district in Vorarlberg . The parish church of St. Bernhard belongs to the dean's office in Bregenz of the diocese of Feldkirch . The church is a listed building .

history

The church was built in 1836/1837 under the direction of the architect Martin von Klink and the painter Johann von Hörmann with the master mason Josef Daum and the master carpenter Johann Stöckeler and consecrated in 1849. Initially a branch of Bregenz, the church became a branch church in 1842 and a parish church in 1873.

architecture

The north-facing, late classicist church building with a retracted, semicircular closing choir and an east tower is enclosed in the north by a cemetery.

Furnishing

The high altar has a flat column structure with a gable and a high tabernacle zone by Josef Zipper from 1840. The altarpiece St. Bernhard in front of Mary and Child painted Brother Josef Wiedemann OCist (1901). The gable painting shows the heart of Jesus.

The organ was built by Anton Behmann (1888) and the Mayer brothers (1922).
