Parish church Kirchberg ob der Donau
The parish church of Kirchberg ob der Donau is located in the municipality of Kirchberg ob der Donau in the upper Mühlviertel in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Othmar belongs to the dean's office Altenfelden in the diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).
history
In 1379 the Chircheperg Inn was officially named as the abseytten , in 1407 the Passau branch church was described, and in 1411 the church was elevated to a parish church.
The parish church goes back to a burial chapel, which was built around 1300 by Ulrich II von Tannberg and which today forms the Marienkapelle. Between the second half of the 14th century and around 1400, today's three-bay church and choir were added, with the nave being redesigned in Baroque style around 1700.
architecture
The church building, which has grown over time, is not right-angled, but rather strongly warped. The three-bay nave, gothic on the outside, shows itself inside as a baroque hall with a belt-lined needle cap barrel over wall templates. To the north of the nave is the two-bay Tannberg Chapel with a five- eighth end and ribbed vaults of the same length and yoke depth . A retracted one-bay Gothic choir with an irregular five-eighth end and ribbed vault adjoins the nave. In both choir corners there are single-storey sacristies, the northern sacristy is late Gothic, the southern sacristy Baroque, the southern sacristy was extended along the south wall of the nave in 1984/1987. The massive late Gothic tower stands in the west, to the north of it in the corner of the tower there is a single-storey Lourdes chapel.
Furnishing
The altarpieces of the high altar and side altars are by Johann Philipp Ruckerbauer (1710), the pulpit by HG Stempl (1709). The crucifixion group on the outer wall was created by Johann Worath around 1640.
