The parish church of Kranichberg stands apart on a spur that slopes steeply on three sides in Kranichberg in the market town of Kirchberg am Wechsel in the Neunkirchen district in Lower Austria . The patronage of the Roman Catholic parish church is dedicated to Saints Philip and Christophorus, it belongs to the Deanery Gloggnitz in the Vicariate Unter dem Wienerwald of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

The parish was officially founded in 1784. From 1994 to 1997 there was a restoration.

architecture

Before that, the Romanesque nave was probably a permanent house , in the 12th century a church was built with the addition of the Gothic choir with a polygonal end. The church has a small roof turret.
