The parish church Nappersdorf is raised in the north of the Angers in Nappersdorf in the market town of Nappersdorf-Kammersdorf in the Hollabrunn district in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to Saint Stephen - incorporated into the Göttweig Abbey - belongs to the Hollabrunn dean's office in the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

The parish was officially incorporated into the Göttweig Benedictine monastery before 1133.

The Gothic church building from the first half of the 14th century was expanded around 1700 and redesigned in Baroque style.

architecture

The outside of the church has a narrow nave with baroque arched windows. A gothic pointed arch portal is walled up on the north side, above it a tape with illegible inscription. The very little retracted choir with a five-eighth closure has strong buttresses and narrow early Gothic pointed arched windows. On the north side there is a baroque chapel built around 1700 with a warped triangle which integrates a former buttress of the main choir, the facade of the chapel is structured with pilaster strips and has flat arched windows with lattices. A baroque chapel is built on the south side with another chapel in the same line, also with arched windows. The presented three-storey west tower from the 20th century has arched sound windows and a pointed helmet.

The church is surrounded by a cemetery. At the cemetery there is a group of figures of the Crucifixion from 1928.

The interior of the church shows a three-bay nave with cross vaults on pilasters. The three-arched organ loft is arched with a cross ridge. The slightly drawn-in one-bay square choir with a five-eighth closure has a ribbed vault on ornamented consoles, a console with a grotesque animal mask, and a rosette keystone. The Gothic sacraments niche has a two-part clover leaf arch. The two-bay north chapel with groin vaults on double chords on pillars with double stripes in front has an apse conche. The south chapel has a groin vault. The sacristy has a flat ceiling and above it an oratory and flat-arched bezel windows.

Furnishing

The neo-Gothic high altar from the end of the 19th century bears the figures Stephanus, Elisabeth, Johannes Nepomuk, Paulus, Rochus. The former high altar picture Stoning of Stephen is from the third quarter of the 18th century.

The font with a shell-shaped sandstone basin from 1730 was restored in 1968.

The organ was built by Johann Georg Fischer around 1810 .
