The Roman Catholic parish church of Schalchen is located in the municipality of Schalchen in the Braunau am Inn district in Upper Austria . The church, consecrated to St. James the Elder , belongs to the Mattighofen Dean's Office in the Diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1143. The Gothic church building was converted to baroque style.

architecture

A slightly retracted single-bay choir with a five -eighth end connects to the single-nave three-bay nave .

Furnishing

The high altar shows an altar painting by the painter Tobias Schinagl (1677) and has good contemporary statues.
