The parish church of St. Wolfgang is a Roman Catholic church in the Schnepfau community in Vorarlberg . She is the St. Wolfgang consecrated. The church is a listed building .

history

The church is first mentioned in documents in 1455 and consecrated in 1459. In 1601 it was expanded and in 1705 a new building took place. From 1871 to 1875 it was extended and increased.

architecture

The simple nave, a hall with five window axes with arched windows, has a gable roof. The choir adjoins the nave with a choir arch. In front of the left side altar, the church is enlarged like a transept. The tower, built on the north side of the choir, has a square base and an octagonal bell storey with an onion dome. The sacristy is attached to the tower. On the west facade is a porch with a triangular gable on columns. The nave is vaulted with a flat barrel vault on slats. The stained glass was created around 1955.

Furnishing

The three neo-Romanesque altars were created in 1874 by the sculptor Anton Rüscher, as well as the figures of the Heart of Mary and the Heart of Jesus on the reveals of the choir arch, as well as the communion bench, the pulpit and the figures of the Immaculate Conception, St. Anna, St. Aloysius and St. Dominic. Melchior Paul von Deschwanden painted the altar leaves in 1874/1875 Jesus as the donor of grace with St. Wolfgang, the Rosary Queen with St. Dominic and St. Katharina, as well as St. Franz Xaver. The side figures of the high altar St. Gallus and St. Dominikus was created by the sculptor Dominikus Trenkwalder . The painter Anton Marte painted ceiling paintings and murals in the choir and on the choir arch in 1924. On the left nave wall are small panels with neo-Gothic frames with candles with the 15 rosary secrets from the 19th century.

Anton Behmann's organ was restored in 1955. There is a bell from the 15th century.

In the cemetery is a memorial stone for Franz Xaver Moosmann by the sculptor Georg Feuerstein from 1892.
