The Roman Catholic parish church of Sigmundsherberg is located in Sigmundsherberg in the market town of Sigmundsherberg in the Horn district in Lower Austria . The church, consecrated to St. Christopher , belongs to the deanery Horn in the diocese of St. Pölten . The church building is a listed building .

history

The church was built in 1936/1937 according to the plans of the architect Rudolf Wondracek . Cars were blessed at the consecration on July 25, 1937.

architecture

The church shows itself in simple cubic elements. The hall room with a flat ceiling has a circumferential gallery. The figural stained glass was created by Hans Alexander Brunner (1937). Franz Pitza (1946) painted the frescoes in the choir.

Furnishing

Anton Aufheimer (1815) cast the bells.
