Catholic parish church of St. Bartholomäus in Steinbach an der Steyr

The Roman Catholic parish church Steinbach an der Steyr is located in the municipality of Steinbach an der Steyr in the Kirchdorf an der Krems district in Upper Austria . It is consecrated to the holy apostle Bartholomäus and belongs to the deanery Molln in the diocese of Linz . The building is a listed building .

The church stands in a cemetery on a hill on the village square.

The church is first mentioned in a document around 1120.

Church exterior

The church is a small Gothic building. Above the west tower is a dome-shaped dome and lantern. The south portal is Gothic.

Church interior

The single-nave nave is three-bay. This is followed by a drawn-in low choir with a 3/8 end. Both the nave and the choir are vaulted with mesh ribs . The three-axis gallery rests on ribbed vaults . A baroque chapel is built on the north side of the easternmost nave yoke . It is cross-vaulted and dates from the first half of the 18th century. The three Gothic choir windows feature high quality paintings from between 1440 and 1450. They show "Mary with Child", the crucifixion and saints.

Furnishing

The decor is neo-Gothic . The pulpit dates from the first half of the 18th century. Above the triumphal arch is a baroque crucifixion group from the first half of the 18th century. In the church there is a statue of St. Barbara from the first quarter of the 18th century. There is also a late Gothic offering box and beautiful baroque wrought iron crosses in the church.
