Katzwang fortified church
The fortified church Katzwang is located on the Rednitz in the Nuremberg district of Katzwang and is used today as the parish church of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Katzwang.

history
The church of Katzwang was first mentioned in a document in 1287 in the context of a bridge over the Rednitz. Evidence for defensive walls around the church, ossuary and cemetery date from 1298.
In 1527 Katzwang became Protestant, but remained under the patronage of the Ebrach monastery until 1803 .
